Renaissance International School recognises and celebrates the unique value and contribution of each student, regardless of their background, interests or abilities, to nurture and empower students.  We are committed to supporting all students who enrol in the school.

Our Admissions philosophy is by nature inclusive and we support, where feasible and appropriate, students with differences in language as well as ways of learning. We accommodate the needs of applicants, unless there is a compelling reason to believe that admission would not be in the best interests of the applicant or the School.

Personalised Learning

We understand that every student has diverse academic needs and learning styles. Learning is personal therefore building strong relationships is essential to differentiated instruction.

As part of the Admissions process, students will be tested to ascertain their level of language proficiency, and where possible, learning needs are identified. In such cases, we may ask for multiple sources of information: Reports of professional assessments, School report cards, IEPs, any documentation that outlines extra support/service.  The student will be assessed by a member of the Learning Support team, with appropriate recommendations made about how best to meet the individual needs of the student.

Diversity and Global Citizenship

Beyond academics, we foster a culture of acceptance, respect, and empathy. Our School promotes understanding and appreciation for different perspectives, cultures, interests and abilities. Through agency, action and service, our students reflect the attributes of the International Baccalaureate Learner Profile. Our Enrichment Programme, field and residentials trips offer our students experiential learning connected to global concepts.

Collaboration

Collaboration is also a key aspect of the School’s inclusive approach to education. We actively involve students, parents and faculty in creating a supportive, welcoming community to which all may belong and contribute.
