1. What curriculum does Renaissance offer?
Renaissance offers a broad and balanced curriculum which is based on the National Curriculum for England as well as the IB scope and sequences across Early Years to Year 9. For Years 10 and 11, the programme culminates in the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) whilst in Years 12 and 13, the School offers the highly regarded International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
In addition to being a fully-accredited IB Diploma provider (DP), Renaissance is also a candidate school for both the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP), having already had our initial applications approved in June 2022. Our school is pursuing authorisation as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy: a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education that we believe is important for our students.
2. Is Renaissance International School Saigon accredited?
Renaissance is fully accredited by the prestigious Council of International Schools (CIS) and is authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) to offer the IB Diploma.
3. What organisations is Renaissance a member of?
In addition to our membership of the Council of International Schools, Renaissance is also a member of the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA), Cambridge International Education (CIE) and EARCOS (East Asia Regional Council of Schools).

4. What are the advantages of a Renaissance Programme?
As a medium-sized international school, our curriculum has a strong focus on academic excellence whilst we provide renowned pastoral care for each student within a supportive, close-knit school community. Student learning is also supported by an extensive range of enrichment activities across all developmental areas.
5. How is Year Group placement determined?
Placement at Renaissance is age-based. Admissions uses the age of the applicant at 31st August of each academic year to determine a student’s natural year group placement. From Year 3 and above, we interview the child and look at the previous two years’ school reports to fully assess suitable and appropriate placement.
6. What is the application process?
Our experienced Admissions Team will support you with your application. The process consists of a few steps:
Step 1: Submit completed Admissions and Enrolment Form
Step 2: Attend Admissions Tests and Interviews
Step 3: Receive and Accept Offer of a Place and pay Registration Fee
A child only become a full member of the school on receipt of payment of Tuition Fees by the due date.
7. Do students get assignments/homework to do at home?
Home learning is an essential adjunct to the taught curriculum and the school provides age-appropriate levels of relevant home learning for its students. Students are strongly encouraged to read in both English and their mother tongue.
8. Can my child learn other languages, in addition to English?
Renaissance has an outstanding language programme which includes mother tongue study in English, Vietnamese and Korean whilst French and Chinese are also available from Year 3 as additional World Languages.
9. Do USA Universities/Colleges accept Cambridge IGCSEs (International General Certificate of Secondary Education)?
Cambridge IGCSEs are the world’s most popular international qualifications for students who are 14 to 16 year olds. They are widely recognised and valued for their rigour and content.
10. Will students receive a Diploma after completing Secondary School? Who issues it?
To complete the IB Diploma, students must attend the required hours of study in school, as required by the IBO and maintain the necessary academic integrity in their written assignments After completing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), students will receive the IB Diploma from the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO). This programme is recognised by the most prestigious universities around that world. The School is very pleased to celebrate the graduation of students at the end of Year 13.
The school also offers an internal High School Diploma for students who have not undertaken the full IB Diploma pathway.
11. Are Renaissance graduates accepted by universities all over the world?
Yes. Our curriculum puts students in an excellent position to apply to, and enter, the university of their choice directly from Renaissance. Our alumni students have gained access into high-quality colleges and universities around the world. We have a dedicated University Guidance Counsellor who supports students with the application process, providing assistance and advice for our Secondary students and parents, as they look to which university and course suits them best.
12. If my child withdraws from Renaissance, will his/her school reports and certificates be recognised by schools in other countries?
Yes. As an accredited international school, all schools overseas recognise our school reports and students’ results. We pride ourselves on the support we offer our students to ensure a smooth transition when they move to another country. The Head of School can sign and authenticate any of our school reports, as required, if the student and family remain in good standing with the School.
13. Does Renaissance provide additional English Language Support?
Renaissance has a long and successful tradition of supporting students requiring English as an Additional Language (EAL) support. Our School has an established and dedicated English as an Additional Language (EAL) Department and provides in-class and small group support, as well as providing professional development for all faculty members to help support our second language learners.
14. Can students transfer from Renaissance to another country?
Yes, a considerable benefit of an international, British-type educational programme and environment is that it is transferrable. The structure and consistency of the National Curriculum and International Baccalaureate allows students to move seamlessly between schools in various countries and facilitates an smooth progression to a school or university in Europe, Asia, America or elsewhere in the world.
15. Do Renaissance students have to wear a uniform?
Yes, when students attend school, they are required to wear the Renaissance items of uniform, as published to parents in the Parent Handbooks. Uniforms are included in the tuition fees at the start of each school year. Further items are at parents’ expense.
