Renaissance’s Early Years and Primary curriculum aims to promote holistic development and lay a strong foundation for students’ educational journey. The educational journey your child will embark on with us is shaped by the pedagogy, beliefs, and values of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), a framework widely recognized as a leading approach to international primary education, and the remarkable legacy of Leonardo da Vinci, the genius of the Renaissance era who is on true inspiration of curiosity and passion for learning.

At Renaissance the Early Years encompasses age groups from 2 to 4, also known as Nursery and Reception. The Primary School is comprised of Lower and Upper Primary. Lower Primary is defined as Years 1 to 3 and Upper Primary is defined as Years 4 to 6.

The Primary Years Programme: Inquiry-Based Learning and Interdisciplinary Connections

We embrace the inquiry-based approach of the PYP, where students are encouraged to ask questions, explore, and discover knowledge in a meaningful way. Guided by skilled educators, students actively participate in their own learning journeys, fostering a sense of ownership and empowerment. Through inquiry, they develop essential skills such as research, analysis, and problem-solving.

We recognize that knowledge is interconnected, and our curriculum integrates various subject areas to facilitate deeper understanding. Inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s holistic vision of the world, Renaissance School students explore the arts, sciences, mathematics, language, and social studies by finding meaningful links between these disciplines. They learn to make connections, transfer knowledge, and apply their learning to real-world contexts.

Early Years: Fostering a world of discovery that embraces holistic development
At Renaissance, we believe that the key to education for our youngest students is to provide them with a safe and nurturing environment where they feel comfortable to explore the world around them, experiment, and push boundaries.

Our Early Years curriculum for children aged 2 to 4 years old also focuses on the holistic development of each child: We prioritize their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.

Students engage in a wide range of age-appropriate play-based activities in a specially designed learning space to best nurture their creativity, critical thinking, communication skills, and personal development.

The PYP at Renaissance creates a stimulating and challenging environment for students from 5 to 12, fostering well-rounded individuals with personal values as a foundation upon which international mindedness will develop and flourish. We strive to develop imaginative minds, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners who are confidence to be creative and well-prepared for future challenges.

We believe in the power of artistic expression to foster creativity and imagination. Our curriculum includes dedicated time for visual and performing arts activities, allowing students to discover their talents and develop their creative abilities. As the matter of fact, we prioritise the physical development along with social and emotional well-being of our students. In addition to organised sports, we also emphasise the importance of free play and unstructured physical activities, allowing students to explore their own interests and develop their creativity and problem-solving skills through movement.
