Mr Stephen Isaacs

Teacher of English / KS3 Leader

Nationality: British

Position at Renaissance: Teacher of English / KS3 Leader

Education and Qualifications: BA (Hons) Media and Communication, UCE Birmingham; CELTA, Pass B; PGCEi, (Distinction) Keele University

Teaching Experience: English should be the beating heart of an international school, and I believe that idea shapes the way I teach. My experience at Renaissance has covered both Primary and Secondary. I am now based permanently in Secondary, teaching English in KS3 IGCSE. I also have extensive experience teaching the grammar rules of English, which I feel helps many aspects of my teaching.

Professional Accomplishments: During my time at Renaissance I am most proud of the Service Learning projects I have built. In 9 years I have been extremely active with our community partners and have raised over 500.000.000 VND for charities from Terry Fox, to our most recent venture with Newborns Vietnam. I organised and operated the Summer school programme here for 5 years, growing the enrolment from 64 students to 123. As Key Stage Three leader I have rolled out a personal projects programme for Year 9 and a Student Led Conference programme across the whole of Key Stage Three.

Description: I firmly believe in a culture of expectation within my classroom and I extend this into my personal life. I believe that not a moment of life should be wasted, so I try to achieve something every day. I am physically active and particularly enjoy competing in triathlons.
